Kodály Approach
I teach singing and musicianship using the Kodály Approach, using a range of practical techniques including Inner Listening, Solfa and rhythm names. With this training it’s harder to make mistakes when trying to find the right rhythm or note. It develops musical memory, brain co-ordination and pitch-matching. As we succeed at each level, the material gets a bit more challenging and our musical skills grow in several directions. This approach is generally the same for everyone, no matter at what age or stage we begin it - only the song material changes to be age-appropriate. This musicianship training is also an excellent preparation for any instrument study.
If it's not fun or joyful, we're doing it wrong!
